GEPRC Vapor D5 HD O4

So i purchased this GEPRC Vapor D5 from a friend who has this setup using the TBS system, Now i have it i intend to use the D5 with both my DJI Goggles 3 and the remote. Todo this i need to put in the SBUS cable, GND cables and setup in Betaflight. I thought to document this as it can be a long process and cant really find anything online as a how to for anyone wanting todo this themselves. The M5 Screw Nut Wrench Link Here

First what’s in the box. 4 packs of propellors, Absolutely loads of parts for the drone from extra screws to battery supports and not forgetting Allen keys. Details here

At a First glance at the drone it is very well put together and parts are easy to replace, some of the parts are even 3D printed.

GEPRC team have redesigned the Vapor series for optimal compatibility with the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro VTX.

Key Feature:

  1. DJI O4 Air Unit Pro features a powerful CMOS sensor for improved image clarity and enhanced light sensitivity.
  2. CNC aluminum lens housing for a durable, bold design.
  3. GEPRC SPEEDX2 E-series motors for smooth, powerful performance.
  4. Front lip design provides extra lens protection for confident flying.
  5. Wider 5mm carbon fiber arms for increased durability and a sleek build.
This is My first 5inch drone, starting from the front the 04 air unit is held by a aluminium housing, moving to the centre the Stack is a TAKER H60_BLS 60A 4IN1 ESC, The solder points are spot on much better than mine and i love how we have plugs for things like the 04 air unit, ELRS and LEDS. To the rear the 04 air unit secured by 4 screws, out the way with goods spacing from the stack and also the ELRS Antenna well positioned with a potential spot for the GPS unit. Coming in a future review.

Underneath the D5, Some good sized skip feet and a good size front bumper to help with distribution and protection. The red pads are just light weight sponges pads help with landing. I have those on my Babyhawk aswell Link here

New aluminum lens components and shock-absorbing silicone reduce vibrations, while the sharp new side panels give it a bold, mech-inspired look. The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro’s larger CMOS sensor enhances image detail and sensitivity, and the GEPRC-tuned PID settings ensure a smooth and immersive flight experience.

Flight time is 14 – 19 minutes. so will be interesting to see if i get this sort of time flying. After my first flight i got about 8 minutes, I did do a Few flips and roles. but i guess if you take these out and just cruise i think 14 minutes could be more of a achievable time for this battery.
Before and after propellors. i went with the orange/Red ones, Just looks amazing. so looking forward to flying it. I have also added a strap to my DJI Avata 2 bag
